Előadás absztrakt:
Regardless of ESL levels (intermediate, advanced), teaching literature in English has always been a great challenge for teachers. According to a general view, the increasingly digitalized environment might be responsible for students’ decreasing interest in reading either shorter or longer literary texts, but what if the same digitalized medium can be turned to the advantage of literary studies? This paper will explore the use of digital skills in the English classroom, more precisely in the English/American literary seminar work. I intend to demonstrate how several digital competencies are effective in teaching literary texts, with special focus on raising motivation and developing communication skills through online collaborative exercises, such as creating quizzes, games, as well as blog entries.
