Comparison of studies’ termination reasons in college of Dunaujvaros (Hungary) and Kauno Kolegija/University of Applied Sciences Faculty of Technologies and Landscaping (Lithuania)

Associate professor, Dr. Anetta Bacsa-Bán took her Ph.D. degree in educational sciences from Eötvös Lorand University. She is a sociologist. She has been lecturing at the College of Dunaujváros since 2000. The subjects are social sciences, sociology, politics, educational research and some other subjects related to these ones. Her research interest is engineering teacher training.

Various aspects of students’ study termination are analysed in all institutions of higher education. This article presents Kauno kolegija/University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Technologies and Landscaping (Lithuania), and College of Dunaujvaros (Hungary) students’ termination of studies analysis. Comparison of respondents’ gender, age, marital status, form of studies and their impact on the study termination is carried out. The results of students’, who discontinued their studies, questionnaire survey, are discussed; including the reasons for termination of studies, study obstacles, work experience and its influence on studies and future plans.
