Előadás absztrakt:
The paper looks at the advantages/disadvantages of using CAT tools in higher level education, that is, BA and MA studies, with special focus on the software called MemoQ. Since the English language and literature specialization at the Partium Christian University became part of MemoQ Academic Program, teachers of translation have started to use the software during their translation classes. The paper will look at the most important functions of MemoQ in its everyday use, that is, the building up of terminology databases and translation memories, and will highlight the (efficient) use of such features in the case of translating various types of texts, such as, literary, judicial, as well as technical texts from English to Hungarian.
