Előadás absztrakt:

As a consequence of the expansion in higher education, the number of students have increased and the academic population has diversified but at the same time the university drop-out has become a general problem since the last century (Trow 2005, Kozma 2010, Barro and Jong 2013, Stanciu 2014, Berei 2018). In this presentation, I proposed a longitudinal quantitative analysis of the persistence of students at a private university from Oradea, România. In partnership with the Center for Higher Education Research and Development, Hungary, named CHERD – H, from Debrecen University, was collected dates among students in 2012 (N=136) and in the first semester of the academic year 2018/2019 (N=112). I examined the pattern that makes a difference between students who intend to drop out and who are willing to finish their study. The novelty of these analyses is that in addition to the academic and demographic characteristics, I have also taken into account the social dimension of the education, connecting the academic and social responsibilities of the students.
Key-words: higher education, quantitative case-study,   persistence of students, social responsibility.
