Developing emotional competencies of students at Partium Christian University

Generally higher education institutions affirm in their mission statement, and during their marketing communication, that they offer educational and related services for their students at Bachelor, Master or Doctoral levels, in order to facilitate the development of the necessary skills and competencies of the students, which can contribute to their personal and professional development, and which can help them to become competitive on the workforce market. Traditional intelligence and knowledge, emotional intelligence and practical skills are necessary for being successful in professional and personal life. The present paper emphasizes the need of developing the emotional competencies of the students during the educational process in which they are involved in higher education institutions. For this purpose can be used a variety of teaching methods, and also information and communication technologies and tools. Important is to offer positive learning experiences for the involved students, because this will increase their engagement in the educational and learning process. The paper presents how was introduced the development of emotional competencies in the educational process in case of students who attend courses at the Economics Department at Partium Christian University.
